Keisha Thomas - Teacher
Kaisha was born in the Bronx, New York but attended primary and secondary school in Trinidad & Tobago where she studied the RAD syllabus through Advanced Levels. At 16, she returned to New York City and attended the prestigious Juilliard School of Performing Arts where she studied under Artistic Director, Martha Hill and such artistes as Maestro Hector Zaraspe, Alfredo Corvino, Daniel Lewis and Kazuko Hirabayashi and earned her BFA Degree in Dance. Later, she attended Hunter College and earned a MS degree with a major in Dance/Movement Therapy. Kaisha danced professionally for many years and travelled nationally and internationally as a member of several dance companies including "Ballet Hispanico of New York" under the direction of Tina Ramirez and "Laura Dean Dancers". She has performed works by Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, Alvin Ailey, Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham and many others. Dr. Kaisha Thomas, PhD is a Licensed Psychotherapist with a private practice in Palm Beach where she specializes in working with performing artists and survivors of trauma.
